JHVD Dutch Whippet Club 2009
It's was a great honour for me to judge 24 whippet ladies at the JHVD show organized by the Dutch Whippet Club. The overall quality was very nice and in some of the classes I had some very nice youngster with a lot of qualities.
But one of the things that needs attention is MOVEMENT... the standard says it all: Free, hindlegs coming well under body for propulsion. Forelegs thrown well forward low over the ground, true coming and going. General movement not to look stilted, high stepping, short or mincing.
My winner today was a beautiful cream import from the states, SDW Annadar Look Out Here I Come bred by G. Konopka & S & K Lyons, own. M. Merlijn.
Pictured my winner a lovely bitch of excellent size, with beautiful shaped head, excellent neck and correct shoulder, with excellent topline also on the move, beautiful strong hindquarters, a quality bitch without exaggaration.
I also would like to mention a few other high quality bitches I judged today a 5 month old brindle bitch bred by Bart Scheerens, Boxing Helena's Itec Tesera with lovely lines and even at this young age holding herself very well on the move. We will hear a lot more from her I am sure.... Another bitch I liked Hannah Di Mahana also full of quality and my 2nd bitch in this class (12-15 months) Delirious Hot Pursuit was very impressive and I just loved her type. And we also have the winner of the 3-5 month old class Sealed With A Kiss Yva Vita bred and owned by Yvanca de Vries still a baby but very pretty and showed like a pro... And last but not least my best veteran Ch. Of Summer's Joy Georgy Girl bred by Wim Wiersma and owned by Monique Post a lovely grand old lady still in excellent condition and showing a beautiful outline.

Arie Dijkhuizen was asked by the NWC to judge the Italian greyhounds and his BOB winner was a very beautiful girl from lovely type with movement.
Fiefoerniek's Femme Formidable JW. Ch. '09
Arie's BOS was a very nice young black dog with wonderful construction and excellent IG movement also from the Fiefoerniek's kennel named Fiefoerniek's Franki Feels Groovy.
A BIG thank you to the NWC and all the exhibitors for showing your wonderful dogs.....
